Warehouse Antiques Given a New Home to a Church in Farmington, Michigan.

An antique pedestal and a statue of the Pietà—discovered by King Richard’s team—have found new purpose as a deeply meaningful memorial for a parishioner’s son at a church in Farmington, Michigan. Originally crafted decades ago and sourced from different churches, these sacred pieces had been safely stored in the King Richard’s Liturgical Design and Contracting warehouse. Today, they have been given new life in their new space, becoming a cherished symbol of remembrance.

The project began when a mother sought to create a dedicated devotional space for her parish community. She purchased the Pietà and pedestal from King Richard’s, personally restored them, and reverently placed the Blessed Mother and Child upon the pedestal. With great love, she dedicated the space in memory of her son.

King Richard’s was honored to provide these antique pieces and witness their transformation into a blessed memorial.

According to a parish representative, the mother was “deeply moved by its beauty and finds great consolation in the Blessed Mother statue.”

This project reflects the enduring power of sacred art to bring healing, beauty, and spiritual meaning to contemporary worship spaces. King Richard’s is grateful to have played a role in helping this family and parish honor a mother’s beloved son.
