King Richard’s Liturgical Design Returns to Pass Christian Church to Restore Fire-Damaged Side Altar
Pass Christian, Mississippi – July 2025 — King Richard’s Liturgical Design, renowned for its craftsmanship in sacred spaces, has returned to a beloved church in Pass Christian, Mississippi, to restore a side altar damaged by fire.
Originally commissioned in 2014 to design and install a custom sanctuary—including reredos, side altars, stained glass windows, pulpit, and altar of sacrifice—King Richard’s was once again called upon after an accidental candle fire caused significant damage to one of the side altar tables.
The fire inflicted the greatest harm on the altar’s mensa and frontal section, requiring full replacement. King Richard’s restoration team carefully dismantled the damaged structure, salvaging what could be preserved and crafting faithful replicas of the original components. The newly fabricated pieces were seamlessly integrated, restoring the altar’s visual integrity while honoring its historical and spiritual significance.
This project underscores King Richard’s dedication to long-term client relationships and expert restoration services, whether addressing age, fire damage, or evolving liturgical needs.
