King Richard’s team enhances St. Luke’s Catholic Church’s sanctuary with new marble pieces including an ambo, pedestals, and a lamb of God carving to match their existing 100-year-old reredos.

Nicholasville, KY— August 17, 2024This long-awaited dedication at St. Luke’s Church took place to honor and anoint the Altar of Sacrifice featuring a new Lamb of God carving. The dedication comes after King Richard’s team completed the refurbishment of the 100-year-old reredos.

Our dedicated team expertly replaced the wooden altars at St. Luke’s Church with elegant Carrara Marble, seamlessly matching the color and veining of the existing 100-year-old reredos. Additionally, we crafted two pedestals for the Mary and Joseph statues, elevating them and enhancing their presence in the church.

The altar of sacrifice was beautifully updated with a detailed Lamb of God carving, meticulously designed in collaboration with sales representative Michael Barone and Fr. Aldrin Tayag to achieve the desired aesthetic. Complementing this renovation, King Richard’s also crafted a matching ambo, further enhancing the visual harmony of the sanctuary and enriching the worship experience for the congregation.

King Richard’s was honored to support Father Aldrin, Steve O’Daniels, Deacon Gary Rudemiller, and the staff of St. Luke’s Church in their renovation efforts, working collaboratively to bring their vision for the space to life.

We feel very privileged that a liturgical piece that we created and installed for the church was anointed by the bishop and blessed by the congregation. The dedication of the Altar of Sacrifice, led by Most Rev. John Stowe, Bishop of Lexington Diocese, was a deeply spiritual event. Key elements of the ceremony included the anointing with sacred chrism, which consecrates the altar, the use of incense symbolizing the perfect sacrifice of Christ as an “odor of sweetness”, and the lighting of candles representing Christ as the “light to enlighten the nations.”

Michael Barone, King Richard’s Business Development Director of the Great Lakes area, compliments the dedication saying “It was a great joy to see all the beautiful Carrara marble pieces carved by King Richard’s finally installed at St Luke’s Catholic Church and dedicated to God. Particularly the anointing and incensing of the Altar of Sacrifice. King Richard’s is honored to be a part of this beautification of the sanctuary.”

King Richard’s has been designing and creating extraordinarily beautiful church furnishings for over 30 years and our work graces churches all over the world.
