To Our Competitors

As a leader in our industry, we realize you will be visiting our website frequently which is flattering; we encourage this activity! We look at it as the same reason numerous world class athletes train with their greatest competitors: it is the only level of competition that can elevate each of their goals. Like King Richard’s, please strive to be a real company with genuine ethics, honest practices, and your own professionally insured employees to protect our industry’s clients; this will elevate our entire industry’s reputation and possibly make you a role model too.

While we acknowledge it's not professional to call any one out specifically, we do recognize some of the larger companies such as King Richard’s are more than frustrated with the fact that the antique stained glass window business has less than an ideal reputation. This has developed as a result of what seems like everyone and their cousin looking for a quick buck entering our arena. Like most new industries, these floundering companies and individuals are looking for a lifeline to survive for a little while longer until the next opportunity pops up so then they can run over there. Don't believe this? How many individuals "say" they buy and sell religious antique window sets were doing it 20 years ago? Unfortunately, as many of you reputable companies are aware, these individuals will tell trusting religious officials anything they have to for their own personal gain. While King Richard’s encourages anyone who is serious about helping create a better market for all of us and our customers by consciously being honest and forthright, we don't encourage these short-sighted individuals to continue as they hurt the rest of us who conduct ourselves with integrity.

As a corporate team, King Richard’s feels a responsibility to conduct our business in as professional, honorable and honest manner as possible. King Richard’s, like many of you, has a spiritual faith community, families, friends and business associates that are important people in our daily lives, and we would never intentionally do anything to embarrass them or ourselves. King Richard’s has not been accused of dishonesty to a Sister, Brother, Priest, Archdiocesan Official, Architect, Contractor or building committee in our decades of business. We are very proud of this fact and will continue to strive to set the best examples possible for all of us in our industry including you. In return, King Richard’s asks that you have the same business practices too as you will also benefit from experiencing a good, honest industry.

We are certainly not perfect at King Richard’s and never will be! We realize these various requests for honest business practices might come as a joke to many of you driven by other factors you deem more important; for those of you, we apologize for wasting your time here. For those of you that want to be associated with an honest industry, please know that we will never enter into activities that would diminish your hopes of having such an industry someday. We are always open to YOUR suggestions, comments or complaints that you feel would help our industry move forward in a positive way. We feel a responsibility to the many stained glass artists and studios that created these beautiful works and wish to honor them by conducting ourselves professionally.

In reference to King Richard's website and all of its content, we do have to make it clear here in writing that we can no longer tolerate those individuals or companies that have unlawfully taken our images, photos and even "copied and pasted" our text in the recent past (yes, this really happened). These unthinkable actions will be handled to the fullest extent of the law if they arise again and will be immediately corrected. These are not honorable activities and hurt all of us out here trying to do the right thing and not steal other company’s work. King Richard’s encourages offenders or those considering a short cut to hard work to do your own work like we obviously have done.
